James Michael Moran

James Michael Moran, “Airport Jimmy” 60, of Hayden (and Longmeadow Mass) passed away on Dec. 29th of complications with diabetes. He died peacefully at home with his pets in Hayden, Colorado.
Jimmy was born in 1955 in Springfield Mass. He attended HS in Longmeadow MA, and lettered in football and hockey. He studied Politics and Agriculture at the U of Mass, and met Celia Duke Moran. They married and had two children, twins Jameson and Harrison. He was the transportation director of the Enfield school system.
They moved to San Francisco California, where Jimmy owned a pet grooming business, and later to Fort Collins, Co. After living in Ft. Collins Jimmy moved to the western slope to live in Hayden, Co, a town he loved. He worked with great joy at the airport and later as a water truck driver.
Jimmy was a man of many words, and was one of a kind. He loved his kids and his animals. Jimmy is survived by his twin sons Harrison and Jameson aged 23, and his sister Martha of Carbondale, CO and sister Pat Foston. He was predeceased by his older brother, Hank “Chili-Dog” Moran, his mother Albertina “Mulcare” Moran, and his father, Henry Moran, a prominent New England Lawyer.
He will be missed by the people who where lucky to know him. Services will be held at the Holy Name Catholic Church in Steamboat on March 14 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Routt County Humane Society: http://www.routthumane.org
