Neldon Stanley Eaton

Neldon Stanley Eaton was born on June 4, 1928 in Vernal, Utah, the son of Ezra and Myrl (Robbins) Eaton.
He was raised and attended school in Vernal.
He married Betty MacKnight on October 23, 1944 in Salt Lake City.
They made their home in Craig and became the parents of three children.
Neldon worked at the Gilsonite Dock, then was a mechanic for years at Craig Sales and in 1965 he opened his own business, Eaton Auto Service.
Neldon operated that business until his health forced his retirement in 2000. Neldon enjoyed snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Neldon died on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at The Memorial Hospital in Craig following a lengthy illness. He was 84.
He is survived by his daughter Joan Eaton, of Craig; his grandchildren Lee (Pam) Aldridge, of Craig; Aaron (Kathy) Aldridge, of Orem, Utah; Anna Marie (Chuck) Appley, of Indianapolis, Ind.; Skyler Gerini, of Craig; Melissa Johns, of Grand Junction; Jolene Walz and Josie Burch, both of Craig; numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; his sister Donna Steele and her husband Leonard; his brothers Larry and Doyle and their wives Ruey and Carol, all of Vernal; and his son in law Philip Gerini, of Craig.
Neldon was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his son, Michael; his daughter, Judy Gerini; and his parents.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at The Craig Cemetery with Joe Ence officiating.
