US 40 reopens from Steamboat to Kremmling

— The Colorado Department of Transportation reopened the 50-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 40 from Steamboat Springs to Kremmling at about 11:30p.m. Tuesday. It has been closed for about five hours because of adverse conditions.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Steamboat and surrounding areas until midnight Tuesday. In addition to continued snowfall, forecasters expect gusty winds up to 40 mph.

Interstate 70 was closed from Idaho Springs to Vail Pass but reopened at about 11 p.m. Tuesday.
