Steamboat's Wood, Dover named to All-Colorado team

Luke Graham

— Four local high school football players made The Denver Post All-Colorado football teams.

In Steamboat Springs, Alex Wood and Joe Dover were named to the Class 3A team. Wood made the team as a tight end, and Dover was chosen as a specialist. Wood, a senior with opportunities as a preferred walk-on at several Division I schools, was a force on offense and defense. As a tight end, he caught 35 passes for more than 700 yards.

Despite missing several games because of injury, Dover proved to be one of the most explosive players in the state. The junior ran for more than 500 yards and had more than 200 yards receiving.

Steamboat junior quarterback Austin Hinder was named to the honorable mention team. Hinder combined for more than 2,000 yards of total offense and 20 touchdowns.

Hayden High School senior Coy Letlow was the lone Tiger on the list. Letlow made the Class 1A honorable mention team as a linebacker.

Glenwood Springs’ Dakota Stonehouse was named the Class 3A Player of the Year, while Demons coach Rocky Whitworth walked away with the title of Class 3A Coach of the Year. Glenwood Springs won the Class 3A state championship game.
