Steamboat Creates executive director joins state humanities board
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Kim Keith, executive director of Steamboat Creates, was elected to the board of directors of Colorado Humanities, a nonprofit that was formed to inspire the exploration of ideas and appreciation of Colorado’s diverse cultural heritage.
“Kim’s creative leadership and community connectedness through a vast array of partners and stakeholders will greatly benefit Colorado Humanities’ mission and vision,” Colorado Humanities board chair Michel Dahlin said.
Colorado Humanities’ programs include: the Black History Live tour, living history festivals such as High Plains Chautauqua in Greeley, the facilitated community discussions “Changing the Legacy of Race” and “Still Coming Home: Conversations About the Experience of War,” the Colorado Book Awards, Colorado Encyclopedia, Motheread/Fatheread Colorado and Veterans Writing workshops.
“Colorado Humanities’ programs are aligned with my personal intent to honor our heritage and keep youth and marginalized groups engaged in learning,” Keith was quoted as saying in a news release. “I’m looking forward to joining forces with the Colorado Humanities board of directors to help enrich our artistic and cultural assets and their impact on rural Colorado.”
