Steamboat School Board meets at 5:30 p.m. today

The renewal of administrator contracts is among the agenda items on today’s meeting of the Steamboat Springs School Board.

The School Board will begin its meeting with an executive session at 5:30 p.m. in Centennial Hall, 124 10th St., to discuss “a personnel matter regarding administrators’ contracts.” A second executive session involves “matters regarding personnel evaluations,” according to the board’s agenda.

The public portion of the meeting is slated to begin at 6 p.m. Other agenda items include updates from the Fund Board and its commissions, a Board of Cooperative Educational Services update, acceptance of a Fund Board gift letter and planning for future meetings. Today’s meeting is scheduled to adjourn at 7:55 p.m.

Gallery to host memory quilt workshop this week

The Artists’ Gallery of Steamboat hosts a memory quilt workshop led by fabric artist Sue Gallion from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 25 and 26, and March 28 and 29.

Gallion said workshop participants should bring “all their souvenirs and buttons and bric-a-brac and old lace and pictures – anything they might want to embellish their quilt with.” Gallion will transfer photos onto fabric at the workshop and will assist participants in imagining and constructing a scrapbook-style memory quilt.

Cost for the workshop is $75 for two days; there is a short list of required supplies, including a piece of backing fabric and light-weight padding to fill the quilt.

Advance registration is encouraged. For more information, call the Artists’ Gallery at 879-4744, or call Gallion at 846-3132 or 870-0147.
