Steamboat briefs: Local R.N. earns asthma educator certification

Local R.N. earns asthma educator certification

— Victoria Barron, R.N., recently passed the National Asthma Education Certification Board exam and is now a certified asthma educator, or AE-C. A certified asthma educator is an expert in teaching, educating and counseling individuals with asthma and their families to help them minimize the impact of asthma on their quality of life. Barron is available as a community resource for education and information related to asthma and other pulmonary diseases. She works as a community health educator for the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association with a focus on pulmonary screening programs.

Youth hockey group seeks parent volunteers

The Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association is looking for parents interested in serving on the board of directors for the 2009-10 season.
