Softball meeting open to high school girls
All high school girls from Craig, Hayden, Oak Creek and Steamboat Springs who are interested in playing fastpitch softball should attend a general informational meeting for parents and players at 6 p.m. Monday at Steamboat Springs High School. Food safety training course offered Tuesday
An employee food safety training course is from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Routt County Cooperative Extension Service Office in the Courthouse Annex on Sixth Street. A Spanish version of the course is from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Courthouse Annex. The cost is $30 a person.
The course will cover the fundamentals of food safety, food-borne illness, proper personal hygiene, cooling and reheating and minimum internal cooking temperatures. Certificates of attendance will be issued upon completion. For more information, contact the Routt County Cooperative Extension Service Office at 879-0825.
LIFT-UP set to resume accepting donations
The LIFT-UP of Routt County Donation Center will begin accepting donations at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Donation drop-offs can be made from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. For more information, call 879-3374.
Golf tournament benefits cancer foundation, project
The Rally For A Cure/Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project Golf Tournament is Tuesday at the Sheraton Steamboat Golf Club. All proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project. This year’s tournament features two shotgun starts. Sign up for 8 a.m. or 1 p.m. Registration forms are at all area courses, or call the Sheraton Steamboat Golf Club at 879-1391.
Flat Tops Llama Trek runs July 23 to 27
The Flat Tops Llama Trek, a fundraiser for Yampatika, is July 23 to 27. A second trek is from Aug. 6 to 8. Hike with the llamas on this amazing wilderness camping experience. Explore high peaks, mountain meadows and stunning views of the Flat Tops Wilderness. The cost is $650 a person for four nights or $350 a person for two nights. Call 871-9151 to register.
