Style columnist wins award for humor

— Steamboat Springs resident Joanne Palmer recently won second place in’s “America’s Funniest Humor!” contest. Palmer’s award-winning essay, “Memorandum,” will be showcased on through the end of July and also will appear in an upcoming print edition of “America’s Funniest Humor!” is one of Google’s highest ranked humor contest sites, with contests and publishing opportunities for humor writers. Dental Coalition opens

The Northwest Colorado Dental Coalition has opened a satellite office in Steamboat Springs. The coalition provides services for children on CHP+ and Medicaid and children and adults who qualify for the sliding fee schedule.
