Upper Spring Creek Trail closed for the season
The upper portion of the city’s Spring Creek Trail is closed until April 15, 2009, in cooperation with the Colorado Division of Wildlife, to provide winter habitat for the local elk herd. The closure became effective Saturday and begins about 1.5 miles up the trail from Amethyst Drive, where the two-track road becomes single-track trail. The closed section of trail is blocked with a gate and informational sign and extends to the top of the trail at the Dry Lake parking lot.
