Meetings begin Tuesday for adult sports leagues

The city’s Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services Department holds informational meetings about adult sports leagues from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. Those interested in coed indoor soccer meet at 5:30 p.m., men’s basketball is at 6:30, and coed volleyball is at 7:30. Seasons run from January through early April. Call 879-4300.

Applications accepted for summer ’09 event funding

The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association is accepting applications for 2009 summer event funding. The application deadline is Jan. 2, 2009. For information and an application, call Kara Givnish at 875-7002.

Public invited to vote in Gingerbread House Tour

Starting Monday, five professionally made gingerbread houses will be on display in downtown Steamboat Springs. Mainstreet Steamboat Springs is asking the public to take time to visit each location to view these creations and cast a vote for Best Gingerbread House Builder. Only ballots stamped by all five locations will be counted. The houses will be displayed at The Homesteader, Epilogue Book Co., K. Saari Gallery, Off the Beaten Path, and the new Steamboat Ski and Sport in Howelsen Place at 7th Street and Lincoln Avenue. The winner will be announced at the Merry Mainstreet event Dec. 13, between 5 and 8 p.m. Call Tracy Barnett at 846-1800.
