Opera volunteers get free admission to Emerald Ball

— All current and former volunteers for Emerald City Opera are asked to contact the opera office at 879-1996 for details about free admission to the 2008 New Year’s Eve Emerald Ball, from 9 p.m. to midnight Dec. 31 at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort’s Grand Ballroom. Featuring live dance music, desserts, fine wines and a chance to win a real Emerald jewel, this year’s ball is a tribute to the opera’s many volunteers who have helped the company reach its seventh season.

Applications accepted for ’09 summer event funding

The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association is accepting applications for 2009 summer event funding. The application deadline is Jan. 2. For information and an application, call 875-7002.

Volunteers invited to serve on Noxious Weed Board

Routt County is looking for volunteers interested in serving on the Routt County Noxious Weed Advisory Board. One board member will be chosen from the Steamboat area, and one will be chosen from Routt County at large.



Interested individuals should have some knowledge about the county’s noxious weed problems.
