South Routt School Board meets at 7:30 p.m. today

The South Routt School Board convenes at 7:30 p.m. today in the South Routt School District administrative offices behind Soroco High School. Agenda items include final approval of the school district’s 2008-09 budget, updates on the district’s new heating system and early learning center and an update on a regional school safety and security task force.

4-H club collecting warm clothes through Saturday

The High Valley 4-H Club is holding a Community Warm Clothes Drive through Saturday. There are collection boxes at Flat Tops Ranch Supply in Phippsburg and Soroco Middle School in Oak Creek. Coats, hats, gloves, sweaters, blankets and other items are needed.

All donations will be provided to LIFT-UP of Routt County at the conclusion of the drive.



Marine Corps Toys for Tots now accepting donations

The Marine Corps Toys For Tots Foundation is a nonprofit organization authorized by the U.S. Marine Corps and Department of Defense to provide fundraising and other necessary support for the annual Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots Program. Now in its 61st year, Toys for Tots provides joy and a message of hope to economically disadvantaged children through the gift of a new toy during the Christmas holiday season. Gifts offer 24hese children hope, recognition and a positive memory they will cherish for a lifetime.

Thanks to Steamboat Motors for being the toy drop-off location in Steamboat Springs. Thanks to the Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors for also collecting toys. Also thanks to the Routt County United Way for the distribution of the toys.



Toys can be dropped off at Steamboat Motors until Saturday.
