Local snowmobilers rescued on Buffalo Pass
Routt County Search and Rescue workers brought two lost Steamboat Springs snowmobile riders out of Buffalo Pass on Sunday evening.
“We found them, and we’re bringing them out now,” Jim Linville of Search and Rescue said shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday. Rescuers were dispatched a few hours earlier.
Linville said the two riders intentionally went off-road. Steep hills they went down, however, prevented the two from following their tracks back. Unsure how else to make their way back to the road, the two called Search and Rescue, Linville said.
