Disc golf course completed
July 28, 2007
Steamboat Springs — Ron Pannesi, course pro and co-designer of the Thunderhead Disc Golf Course announced completion of the new 18-hole course at the Steamboat Ski Area Friday.
“It looks immaculate now,” Pannesi said, noting ski area employees finished mowing the fairways Thursday and that all tee pads and signs directing players from hole to hole are now up.
Pannesi said an information board/kiosk with maps and scorecards at the beginning of the course, near the base of the Thunderhead chairlift, will be up Monday, as well as pictures and course descriptions at http://www.steamboatdisc.com.
Pannesi encouraged players to carpool to the Thunderhead base due to limited parking and reminded players to leave no trace, keeping in mind the “Pack It In, Pack It Out” ethic with much of the course located on National Forest lands.
