Shelly Riley: Tickets too steep
Steamboat Springs — I was so looking forward to the Steamboat Springs Orchestra’s Holiday Concert until I learned that adult tickets were $30. Although the concert undoubtedly will be wonderful, as it was last year, $30 seems a little steep, especially considering the price was a more manageable $20 last year. (Ah, yes, 2007, when we were all happy-go-lucky and rolling in the dough.) And why is it that adult tickets for this past Friday night’s Craig performance were only $15? Are we expected to pay more in Steamboat because we’re “wealthier” and “can afford it”? I still believe music is good for the soul, but this year I guess I’ll get it from a CD.
