RECIPE: Johnny B. Good’s Diner’s homemade Irish creme adult milkshake
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — When you walk into Johnny B. Good’s Diner, located at 738 Lincoln Ave. in downtown Steamboat Springs, you’re transported back in time.
The ’50s-style diner is decorated wall to wall with black-and-white photos of old Hollywood stars, like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley, and has the tiled floor, red booths and serving counter of a bygone era.
The menu includes a favorite 1950s order for teenagers enjoying a night out: a burger, fries and a milkshake.
While Johnny B. Good’s offers all types of milkshakes, they’ve made a special menu for their adult patrons. And the main feature is their homemade Irish Crème, which is available year-round on their “Cocktail Corner” menu.
But if milkshakes aren’t your idea of a good way to have whiskey, Johnny B. Good’s also offers it in coffee and shot form.
The exact recipe is a house secret, but here’s the main things needed to make Irish crème.
- Lots of whiskey
- Sweet and condensed milk
- Instant coffee
- Lots of cream
- Mix together
- Turn into milkshake, pour in coffee or shot glass
- Add whip cream (only on coffee or milkshake)
- Drizzle chocolate
- Garnish with cherry (optional)
