Pearl Lake offers peace and solitude

Just a few miles south of Steamboat Lake State Park is Pearl Lake State Park, a less-visited recreation area that offers more solitude than its busy neighbor to the north. About three dozen campsites as well as two yurts are available at the 169-acre Pearl Lake State Park, which offers good fishing and more than 100 miles of trails. Pearl Lake is wakeless.

Pearl Lake is approximately 27 miles northwest of Steamboat Springs. To get there from downtown Steamboat, follow U.S. Highway 40 west to its intersection with Rout County Road 129. Turn right onto 129 and travel approximately 25 miles to Routt County Road 209. Turn right onto 209 and follow it to the lake.
