‘Grounded’ to celebrate public lands through multimedia storytelling at Wednesday performance
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Bud Werner Memorial Library and the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council present “Grounded,” an evening of multimedia storytelling to honor Colorado Public Lands Day at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, in Library Hall. This free community storytelling event features original essays, short stories, poems, sketches, photography, music, visual art and more.
Community members will present their stories related to public lands live before an audience. Presenters for the 2019 performance include Tom Baer, Julia Ben-Asher, Jill Bergman, Marianne Capra, Emily Craig, Jeff Hall, Dee Hubbard, Katie Kiefer, Krista Meyer, Diane Miller, Cody Perry, Benjamin Saheb and the Yeiser family.
The audience should expect humor, vulnerability, education, inspiration, activism and a reflection on the Yampa Valley community’s deep emotional response to public lands, both locally and around the world. Visit steamboatlibrary.org/events for more information.
