Free H1N1 vaccine offered to high-risk groups

Routt County residents who identified as part of high-risk H1N1 flu priority groups can get free vaccines from the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association. The H1N1 vaccines are also available for high-risk priority groups in Jackson and Moffat counties.

According to a news release from the VNA, high-risk priority groups include:

N Health care workers with direct patient care responsibilities

N Pregnant women

N Household contacts and caregivers of infants younger than 6 months

N Children ages 6 months to 4 years

N Children 5 to 18 who have underlying health conditions

The free vaccine is being offered at drop-in clinics in Routt and Moffat counties, according to the news release. The vaccine is available in injectable and mist forms. It also is available at some private health care providers in the area.
