Steamboat Springs — Mambo Italiano nearly became a drive-through in a three-vehicle collision Friday afternoon – one of many accidents reported as weather took its toll on Routt County roads.

A Toyota 4Runner ended up on the sidewalk facing perpendicular to Lincoln Avenue, its nose against Mambo Italiano’s patio fencing and posts. No one was injured in the accident, which occurred at about 3:30 p.m.

The driver was heading eastbound in the outside lane in downtown Steamboat Springs, when a Ford F150 that was stopped in the inside lane for the light at Fifth Street unexpectedly changed lanes, Steamboat Springs Police Department code enforcement officer Shane Jacobs said at the scene. The Toyota driver hit the brakes and swerved, clipping a Toyota RAV4 as the SUV pulled onto the sidewalk.

A one-vehicle rollover accident was reported on Routt County Road 27, as well as a three-vehicle collision north of Oak Creek on Colorado Highway 131, Colorado State Patrol Sgt. Scott Elliott said.

Multiple fender benders and vehicles off-road were reported across the county, especially on Rabbit Ears Pass and in the area of Milner on U.S. Highway 40, according to emergency dispatchers.
