An Evening of Comedy with Kip Attaway and Katie West
Doors and bar open at 6:30 p.m. America’s favorite musical, cowboy and funny man. Steamboat favorite Katie West will open the show with her hilarious antics. Tickets are available at chieftheater.com or All That.

Known both for their work guiding hikes and knowledge of native plants, Karen Vail, local botanist, and Mary O’Brien, local herbalist, will host a book signing and sales event for their newly published book, “Edible and Medicinal Plants of the Southern Rockies,” a field guide that is the culmination of more than 50 years of knowledge, education and field experience. The cost for the book is $28.95 .

Third annual Color Run and Walk
Get a splash of color this weekend with the annual Color Run, set for Saturday at Howelsen Hill. Registration includes a Zumba warm-up, the run and after-party at the Colorado High5 Bar, with beer from Butcherknife Brewing Co. and pizza and soda for kids. Register online at getfitfamilyracing.com or in-person at Twisted Trails Running Company. Packet pickup and registration is available from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Twisted Trails Running Company.

Steamboat Swings Big Band
A swing dance class will be led by Steamboat Stomp starting at 7 p.m., Saturday with the local swing band starting at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per person, $15 for couples and $5 for students.

El KaBong is Steamboat’s hottest new band featuring local legends (in their own mind) Peter Van De Carr, Gretchen Van De Carr, Tommy Larson, Mick Paulis and Eugene Buchanan. You won’t want to miss this show Saturday at Hahn’s Peak Roadhouse.
