Cuginos Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant has been a mainstay in Steamboat for more than 25 years. To some, it has become the traditional place to go when visiting Steamboat. To the locals, it’s the traditional place to go any day of the week. The restaurant was started by two Italian cousins, and the name Cuginos was derived from the Italian word for cousins. Cuginos focuses on using nothing but the best ingredients. The recipes used have been a staple for more than 25 years. Cuginos makes dough fresh daily, and bakes the products in a brick-lined oven while serving it in a friendly, inexpensive, and consistent manner. That focus has been passed on to the current owner, who has been carrying on the southern style Italian cuisine tradition for more than 10 years. The menu includes pizza, stromboli and calzones that start with homemade dough that is hand tossed and formed before being filled with fresh toppings. Cuginos also has great nightly specials created by the saute chefs. The kitchen is open for everyone to see, giving the kitchen staff an opportunity to acknowledge customers’ patronage and for the kids to watch the pizza chefs tossing dough. When it’s all put together, Cuginos is a family-owned business that treats its employees and customers like they’re part of a family. The restaurant prides itself in its product, and Cuginos loves to see customers come back again and again.

A variety of delicious pasta dishes are also a trademark of the restaurant. Notably it all starts with great homemade sauces, which include marinara (the tasty and popular red sauce), capri sauce (white wine, olive oil, garlic and fresh spices), alfredo sauce (cream, white wine, Parmesan and fresh spices), and finally a traditional favorite, pesto sauce (sweet basil, garlic, olive oil, romano, and pine nuts). Cuginos also serves great nightly specials made by the talented saute chefs.

The signature items on the menu are pizza and stromboli. Cuginos uses nothing but the best ingredients, making the dough fresh daily and baking the product in a brick-lined oven.

If you asked any local to describe Cuginos Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant, they would smile from ear to ear and use terminology such as unpretentious, friendly, inexpensive, consistent and delicious. Yes, Cuginos is all that and more. Cuginos is a family-owned and operated business taking pride in its product and they love to see customers come back again and again. Cuginos is not the only pizzeria and Italian restaurant in town, just the best!
