Club skiers clean up in Winter Park

— The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club had multiple top finishes in the Rocky Mountain Division Devo freestyle championships in Winter Park during the weekend.

In the boys J4 slopestyle competition, Jesse Pugh finished second, Lennon Vaughan finished fourth and Charles Toye finished ninth. Other Steamboat finishers included Robby Brown in 13th, John Satterfield in 14th, Brody King in 15th, David Kissane in 18th, Charlie Schmidt in 26th and Aaro Vandergraaff in 35th.

In the boys J5 competition, Robi Powers finished first, Payton McElhiney finished second, Connor Smith finished ninth and McKenyon King finished 15th.

In the J4 boys mogul event Saturday, Toye finished 15th. Tyler Strand finished ninth in the J5 boys, while McElhiney in 11th, King in 13th, Connor Smith in 15th and Jack Vanderbeek in 18th all had strong performances. Ben Hoefer finished seventh in the J6 boys division.

On Sunday, Toye finished tops for the Winter Sports Club with a second-place finish in the J4 boys division. Vaughan in 10th, Zachary Rosa in 12th, Kissane in 14th and Pugh in 15th all had top finishes.

Steamboat’s lone female representative, Riley Toye, finished 15th in the J5 girls moguls.
