Sherman & Howard aims to guide businesses
Steamboat Springs — Law firm Sherman & Howard has established a changing markets practice group focused on guiding clients through legislative and regulatory changes. Denver-based Sherman & Howard has an office in Steamboat Springs.
The new practice group formalizes what the firm already has been doing for many of its clients, which is to provide an integrated response to each client’s issues and needs as they relate to the changing business environment, a news release stated. The changing markets group comprises 19 lawyers from eight practice areas: banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, estate planning, labor and employment, securities law, contracts, construction and real estate.
Steamboat brokerage joins Residence LLC
George Lane, chairman of Regency Publishing Group in Houston, announced that Steamboat Village Brokers has joined Residence LLC as the exclusive representative for the Steamboat Springs area, according to a news release. Regency is the parent company of Residence, an association of upper-end Realtors from across the United States and abroad, the release stated.
“We are extremely pleased that Steamboat Village Brokers accepted the invitation to join our elite group of Realtor members,” Lane said. “The regard in which they are held by their peers assures us our membership continues to be the most respected consortium of Realtors in the country.”
Alpine Bank wins state ‘Green Leader’ award
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, with the Pollution Prevention Advisory Board and the Colorado Environmental Partnership, has designated Alpine Bank a “Gold Leader” for its environmental leadership, according to a news release. Alpine Bank is the first financial institution in Colorado to be recognized with this award by the state, the release stated.
The Environmental Leadership Program is a statewide environmental recognition and reward program, according to the release.

It offers benefits and incentives to members who go beyond compliance with state and federal regulations and are committed to continual environmental improvement, the release stated.
Three years ago, Alpine Bank formalized an employee grassroots effort called the Green Team. The team’s first projects were aimed at recycling and eliminating paper waste, and the efforts evolved into an Environmental Management System, the release stated.
