Main Street committees looking for members

ballots must be requested
Those eligible to vote on a funding mechanism for the Downtown Steamboat Springs Business Improvement District must obtain and return a request to be included in the mailing when ballots for the election are sent.
The City Council created the district June 19 when an ordinance for it was passed on second reading. However, eligible voters – all property owners, tenants and residents within the district – must approve funding for the district by mail ballot in November.
The district is roughly the area bounded by Third and 12th streets, the Yampa River and the alley beyond Oak Street.
