Allison’s picks for July 28-Aug. 3
Saturday
¤ Mr. Sits
When: 10:30 p.m.
Where: Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant, 628 Lincoln Ave.

Why you should go: Because DJ Mr. Sits will make sure that you have a fabulous time, and you will be within eye contact of a bar that serves great margaritas.
Sunday
¤ King Solomon Falls
When: Preferably during daylight hours
Where: You gotta figure it out.
Cost: Free, unless you injure yourself jumping off the falls.
Why you should go: Because it’s summertime and you need a good challenge.
Monday
¤ Free mountain biking clinic for women. The clinic will focus on downhilling skills.
When: 5:45 p.m.
Where: Steamboat Ski and Bike Kare
Cost: Free
Why you should go: Because it’s time to get out there and learn how to mountain bike or increase your skills.
Tuesday
¤ Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory presents a student recital
When: 7:30 p.m.
Where: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
Cost: Free
Why you should go: To see all the amazing work that the students of the Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory are doing.
Thursday
¤ The Great American Laughing Stock Company Presents: The Spitfire Grill
When: 7:30 p.m.
Where: Steamboat Springs Mountain Theater in Ski Time Square
Cost: $15; proceeds benefit the family of Brian Houston
Why you should go: First, because the proceeds benefit Brian Houston’s family and second, because the story is about a young girl with a troubled past, who was recently released from prison after 5 years behind bars. She wants to start fresh in a small town in the Midwest and finds work as a waitress in the town’s only cafe. Sounds good to me.
