2 deaths confirmed at Keystone

— Two deaths were confirmed Saturday at Keystone by Summit County coroner Joanne Richardson.

The first happened at about 11 a.m. and is not skiing related. William Sanko, 69, of Castle Rock, Colorado, died because of prior existing health issues.

The second death took place at 11:45 a.m. on the North Peak of Keystone. The victim was a 28-year-old male, who died of head trauma from hitting a tree. He was not wearing a helmet.



His name is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

His death is the first of this season but the ninth to occur in 2008.
