Youth Education Scholarship Golf Tournament canceled

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The Steamboat Springs Young Professionals Network has canceled the Youth Education Scholarship Golf Tournament for the first time in over 30 years of the event.

For over three decades, the Steamboat Springs Chamber and the Young Professionals Network have hosted the tournament on the first Wednesday in June. Proceeds from the tournament and sponsorships collected are allocated towards scholarship dollars for Routt County graduating seniors with over $100,000 being granted over the years.

Due to current circumstances surrounding COVID-19, the difficult decision was made to cancel this year’s tournament. Though the event has been canceled, Young Professionals Network is still committed to providing scholarships to Routt County graduating seniors during this unprecedented time.

A GoFundMe page has been set up in hopes of crowdfunding scholarship dollars. For every sponsorship and donation dollar raised, Young Professionals Network plans to match the funds up to $5,000 with a goal of collecting $10,000 to grant in scholarships.
