12:40 p.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers responded to a report that the side panel of the caller’s car had been scratched while at work in the 1800 block of Ski Time Square Drive.

1:27 a.m. Officers and Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported burglary in the 2800 block of Abbey Road. A man caught someone going through his wife’s unlocked vehicle. The suspect took off down the street. A purse, a child’s backpack containing a one-piece snowsuit and a case of Thin Mints Girl Scout Cookies were reportedly missing.

2:21 a.m. Officers responded to an incident of domestic violence in Steamboat.

6:05 a.m. Officers responded to a reported burglary at a storage shed at Howelsen Hill Ski Area. Miscellaneous items such as coats, hats and gloves were missing.



8:46 a.m. Deputies and Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to an unknown injury crash on mile marker 120 on U.S. Highway 40 west of Milner.

11:13 a.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to an unknown injury crash at Colorado Highway 131 and U.S. Highway 40.

2:21 p.m. A person felt unsafe entering their home as a cow moose was laying in their front yard in the 2600 block of Longthong Road. Officers helped the moose move along.

3:08 p.m. Officers responded to a report that a person left a restaurant without paying the $30 bill in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue.

3:17 p.m. Deputies were called to an unknown injury crash at a hot spring in the 44200 block of Routt County Road 36.

6:10 p.m. West Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to assist someone with chest pain in the 400 block of West Jackson Avenue in Hayden.

6:15 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to assist a person having an allergic reaction in the 2300 block of Mount Werner Circle.

6:17 p.m. Deputies and Routt County Search and Rescue volunteers were called to a possible search on Rabbit Ears Pass. The missing party was able to get out on their own.

8:04 p.m. Deputies were called to a reported animal bite in the 7500 block of Routt County Road 74 near Hayden.

9:39 p.m. Two restaurant employees got in a shoving match at a restaurant in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue. Neither person wanted to press charges.

Total incidents: 48

  • Sheriff’s deputies had seven cases that included calls for service and officer-initiated incidents such as traffic stops.
  • Steamboat firefighters responded to 11 calls for service.
  • West Routt firefighters responded to one call for service.
  • Routt County Search and Rescue volunteers responded to one call for service.
