Family Night at the Museum to be offered Wednesday

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The Steamboat Art Museum, in partnership with Yampatika, Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition and Steamboat Lake State Park, will host Family Night at the Museum from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23.

The museum’s current exhibit, James Morgan’s “Moments in the Wild,” features 80 paintings by America’s foremost nature and wildlife painter. This interactive evening will be filled with activities for the whole family aimed at teaching them about the birds and animals depicted in the paintings.

There will be an opportunity to paint with Steamboat Springs artist Jill Bergman on her “The Yampa is Wild” mural, meet Sandy the Crane, enjoy Yampatika’s display of skins and skulls, and learn how to track animals. An art scavenger hunt also will be held.
