Stripes cause strife

"Draper said C.R. 36 is the only road with 9-foot vehicle lanes in Routt County. Winding C.R. 14, also known as River Road, has 11-foot vehicle lanes, he said."
He forgot to metion that River Road has Zero-foot bike lanes.

The Record for June 5

On Thurs. we passed the 2:59 car wrecks on 131. I say wrecks because they were at least a quater of a mile apart. We saw the white suv on the back of the tow truck. I am suprised the Colorado Highway patrol car involved in the second wreck did not have to be towed also. It seemed to be the worse of the two wrecks. Very surprised our paper did not report that the Highway Patrol had been in a wreck on Thursday. Since they didn't I will report that their was a Colorado highway patrol officer investigating the white suv wreck and that the Routt County Sherriff department was on the scene at the CHP wreck.

Should the Steamboat Springs School Board hire a search firm to help identify superintendent candidates?

That is what the school board is for. Let them get up off their butts and find a superintendent.

Stephen M. Aigner and Sue Carter: Concerned for future

Again, a lot of words that sound so good and yet have so little meaning.

Recreation center tanks

Mr. Fraioli, it would appear you never had wind in your sails. Just what part of a 80% NO don't you understand?

Michael Turner: Staff irresponsible

BoulderGrad (that's something I might not be proud of), the only place you are playing is in left field.

James C. Makens: No housing problem

Tell it like it is, Mr. Makens. Do you think our City Council has ears?? jlkar, kiebasa, and just 10 are no better. They have no understanding of our free enterprise system and a free market. The price of homes, and it should be, is driven by demand.
Goverment has no place in the home market. That is a function of developers and builders. If there's a need, they will build it.
Our system provides for employment by paying them a salary that will permit them to live here, not buying them a home.
