CO - you sure missed the ball on this one. Id is not Wall. He was outed several years ago under a different name. I won't repeat it, but I believe you have incorrectly identified this poster.
Steamboat does have a sign code, but it is enforced only occasionally. The code gets most enforcement with new or existing businesses. Notice the 'golden arches' don't seem quite like those in other towns? Yep, sign code.
As to the political signs - like everything political they have exempted themselves from the rules. So the sign code does not apply to your neigbor covering their lawn with candidate and issues signage.
There is a code, however, about putting political signs on public property. Not allowed (but often violated).
Alcohol, specifically the fermenting of grain and fruits, is believed to be one the main forces that changed the early hunter/gatherer into an agricultural society.
Agricultural societies gave rise to institutions and the associated buildings (temples and such).
Dang I hate it that gray is not just black and white.
Yep, 88 and housepoor, I bet they pay less tax on this mansion than I do on my 1100 sq ft. Perhaps I could rent some livestock to mow my grass and claim the exemption?? And the powers that be want to raise my property taxes. A real property tax on homes like this and the county could perform ALL the road improvements they need.
The big question to ask about all the development - is what happened to all the fee-in-lieu of parking money the city collected? Wasn't that supposed to help offset them relaxing the parking requirements for these buildings?
