Was curious and just called the OTHS. Daily Rate (for the tourists) stays the same at $12/day for adults for pools, $18/day for pool and fitness. Looks like the tourists don't get a rate increase like the locals.

Yes. I've been told the lap pool is heated that way, not through the natural hot springs.

Localfuzz… Talk to your County Commissioners. It's a great idea! Many in the county wanted to vote as well. County commissioners wouldn't meet, wouldn't listen, wouldn't communicate at all. They were very negative towards it. I hope they can better represent their constituents by listening, and working with a new council.

Shadow: Absolutely NO comparison between the OTHS and the Breck and Silverthorne rec centers. The all-inclusive rec centers have SO much more to offer. You're way off base.

These prices at OTHS which have doubled (along with a $150 annual assessment to help pay their debt) get you a way-outdated lap pool with no gutters, floating hair balls and bandaids, and names carved in the dirt at the edge of the pool. The diving well is too shallow and an insurance liability. You also get sewer pipe slides that are too small, too dark, they scratch you up, and they are simply a ploy to get the tourists in the door.

Board members on the board for nearly half a century really must go, as they are way over budget, as well as completely out of touch with the needs of our community and how Steamboat is growing.

Plus, they lie. Their letter sent during the election was a complete lie, talking about how they would soon have the Post Office property. The Board should hang their head in shame in our community, for their lies and mismanagement.

RetiredinSS/GHr: Rec Center proponents asked, mediated, suggested everything possible (for several years) to work with the Board of the OTHS, to no avail. Bud wouldn’t budge on anything. You know that all too well.

Maybe the city will buy the PO property and give it to OTHS to do the proper expansions that are needed to provide the unmet needs of our community. But the OTHS is up to their eyeballs in debt. They want the PO property, but want it handed to them on a silver platter. Let’s hope our new council has the foresight to work it all out the right way, unlike the last one.

BTW, how's the backyard? Enjoy it now.

Do you want to live in a soul-less resort town or a world class location for healthy living, neighborly interactions, and raising a family?
If you want the later, please vote yes!
