Some of us live in the opposite direction of county road 78.To close the cog would add at least another 40 minutes to drive to Steamboat to go to work, and then consider the price of gas. It scares me everyday, thinking that the hill will slide on me or the road will fall away.

Thanks Tom,
You always seem to remind me of things that have become “senior moments”!

The More's have never received any royalties from the advertising with the barn! When it was first used in pictures it wasn't rundown and there was no “strip mall” behind it.

It does my heart good to hear you all now disagreeing about the infamous Emerald Mountain. Where were you when we lost thousands of acres of public land to obtain this small parcel?

It is alot more petrifying for the drivers of big trucks to aviod cars wanting to turn in front of them all the time, trying to make a left hand turn, watching for people and bicycles. Imagine trying to stop those things on a dime when someone in the right hand lane is parked and opens the car door! They are just doing their job and are alot safer in the left lane.

There are so many roads in Routt CO. that have difficult and blind areas making driving a challenge for many motorized vehicles. Add a bike or two or four and the danger is increased for all. Why would anyone want to put themselves in this area when there are many safer places to ride?

How about the school buses on the cog? It's a very scary drive!
