From what has been estimated, the oil sands of Alberta are the the next largest oil supply after Saudi. Why aren't we doing more with Canada?

Thanks backcountry, that was a great post. I am glad there are still some of us with the passion. Even after 53 years of skiing, when I put on my “ski”I go -I love this sport and no one will ever take it from me. {I heard the skiing was awsome in hell ,for when that time comes!!!!!} Thompson Rules!

Thanks Fred for bringing up that we tried 25 years ago. There were some of us who were trying to plan for the future. Examples Saved the Depot from demolition ,raising money for MRI machine, first 4 wheel drive ambulance and bldg. to house it, ice rink and roof. chair lift @ Howellson hill, bikepath. But the by-pass was put down by the merchants. Guess we were just a bunch of no good hippes. Town is stuck with this mess now. This is not going to go away.Fred has put out some ideas,we must start acting on this problem now. It is not going away We are not going to please everyone. Or we can hide our heads in the sand, let it go as it exisits. Then maybe people might get fed up and leave, which might be good. Jobs will be lost, people have to leave, end product less traffic. No need for affordable housing. This must be solved before 700 comes on line. It is not their fault that there is going to be an increase in traffic. It was the greed of downtown merchants years ago and lack of fore-sight by previous CC's.

Thanks gravity for the update. It is sad that it has come to this. Guess the young generation can't handle the “schrooms”.I know the old time locals will still have a good time.Wish I could be there . Will be checking out the “dive”in Baniff.

So Matt, a majority of the workforce lives there. How come the cost is 8 to 15 dollars per rider? That cost is way out of line and a waste of tax money. And CMC students too lazy to walk down the hill to the main line. Guess when you finish school you will want us to give you a house and pay for child care. Don't give me excuse it is on a hill. I would bet on a powder morning it would be no problem.
