If memory serves Cargo drinks white russians.
The Colorado has nothing on the VFW as far as over serving goes. Jay runs a good business and does abide by the liquor laws. You can't control what people do before they come to the bar.

bwat- Have you looked in the paper lately to see how much a two bedroom condo or townhome is going for these days?
And just as a point of mention, most places do not include cable,trash,water,phone,electric- once you add that to even a slightly more affordable 2 bedroom at let's say $1,350 per month and add in those extra expenses on top of rent-You will quickly see that for the current express purpose of housing seasonal workers who come to town - this is a good deal for them-

When I was Karsen’s age I made some very poor choices and ended up in a good amount of trouble with the law- though I never hit a cop- my decisions allowed me to see the inside of a juvenile detention facility and then a county jail.
I was raised by a police officer and had one as a grandfather as well; so even with a strict upbringing I still made bad choices.
Yes my family loved me even though I had disappointed them and misused their trust. The fact remains that no matter what they tried to do to help me I was the one responsible for changing my behavior. I was the only one to face the consequences for my actions.
My family had to show some tough love during this time and once I had grown up, I was able to see the error in my ways, and was able to understand what I had put my family through. I also was able to ask them to forgive me, and begin the process of rebuilding trust with them. It took some time but after I showed consistency in my ability to make good healthy decisions- they were able to see that I had made the change.
I only hope Karsen can pull himself up and change direction.

What a suprise (not)!!!!!
I am not suprised that Karsen has gotten himself in to trouble again, that's what happens when you only get a “slap on the hand”.
We need to face the reality that unless Karsen decides to change his own direction, this will not be the last time we see his name in the jail report.
I bet his family is very proud- I wonder if they are going to say what a wonderful kid he is this time?

How can it be cheaper for the employer (in this case the city) to pay an allowance for housing when they have a housing option that they Own?
I am not arguing about how much it costs the city to run the Iron Horse (as I stated in a previous post, we don't know the terms of the management contract) And I am aware of how much it costs to run a place like this-
And I think when it comes to the issue of “Affordable housing” we as a community should look at every option that could possibly be available- I can imagine this may have been one of the many reasons the city decided to invest in the Iron Horse in the first place. As was stated in the article they are not planning any major renovations at this time- so all us tax payers can breathe a sigh.
And I already answered your question- If I were in that situation where little was available in the rental market that I could afford, and my employer offered this option, I would take it.
All of my comments are a collection of things I have herd from employers, employees & home owners- And contrary to what you think- all of these things are important to those who are directly affected by the lack of affordable housing in this area.

Just talking about the problem of over serving- I am fully aware that the VFW in OC has been closed for years.
I lived in OC for a while, and over serving was always a problem, there is nothing more to do in that town but drink.
