Quite simply a travesty of justice has occured. Mr St. James and Ms. Boesnik have abused their powers. This is not the first time and will not be the last. Let us all in Steamboat now take action and effect the recall of Ms. Boesnik.
Cheescake you miss the point....this is yet again an overreaction by law enforcement and the DA...in a civilized society you don't incarcerate people for six months for stealing food from a garbage can...that was in the middle ages in europe before this country was born.
Alexis - Great reporting..you nailed all the issues..my bet is that Doug Monger will opt to raise the issue tomorrow..we will see ;-) ..I spent time around town today and there is unanimous outrage....this could reach boiling point !!
This is more than outrageous it is a total embarassment to our community..this situation needs to be protested in the media, the blogosphere and if necessary we need to protest on Lincoln Avenue. I sincerely hope that our community leaders will push for the recall of District Attorney Bonnie Roesink...she is obviously incompetent...a new DA can then get rid of Kerry St. James. The Steamboat Pilot and Alexis DeLaCruz need to keep this on the front page until something is done. My wife and myself will be writing to the DA and copying the editor of the Steamboat Pilot..I encourage others to do the same...we all need to speak up.
Charle and Siller released
