Was this Dave Kings (Tripple Crown) way of telling Steamboat what will happen to the town if the city does not abide by his requests for more fields etc? Guess what Mr King the lights did come back on and the city was just fine. Too bad for the small animal (Tripple Crown) that didn't survive. Steamboat will survive with out you!!!!

Sheriff Wall knew the risks of not talking the Field Sobriety tests and now he must face the consequences. Why should he be exempt from the law he was elected to enforce?
Why is it that we never heard the outcome of the internal investigation (Sheriffs office) into his case?
Sheriff Wall should stand up and admit that he made a mistake and face the consequences of his actions.
Save the taxpayers of Routt County some money and your own attorney fees and do the right thing. Admit you were wrong and that you did not do as was required by law - submit to a Filed Sobriety test and let the chips fall where they may.

I think that you would be very surprised at the amout of locals who would vote for Triple Crown to exit Steamboat. Yes there is some benifit to Triple Crown coming to the Boat. Yes the local t-shirt shop owners and restaraunts on Lincoln ave want to keep triple crown but when is enough from Dave King? Where does this stop? Triple Crown is for profit business and Mr King keeps coming back to Steamboat and threatening to leave because we have catered to him for way too many years. Let him take his threats and go.
Lets take it to vote and leave it t that.
Let this be the final word.

Who is running this town Dave King and Triple Crown or City Council?
As I wrote several years ago - we do not need Triple Crown for this town to survive. Mr King seems to think so but he is wrong. There are many other groups who would love to come to Steamboat and have the wonderful open fields and peaceful town to play in. Mr King threatend to pull triple Crown out before unless we built him several more fields to play on - now he wants Emerald Meadows - NO ! This field is for local residents. It was built and designed that way and promised to the locals it would stay that way. Let Mr King and Tripe Crown go. City Council and Chamber resorts needs to stand up and show some cajones and not be bullied by Triple Crown year after year when they keep coming back and asking for more and more.
For Councilman Antonucci to say with the loss of Triple Crown to and going Cold turkey would be “Really hard” for a couple of years is also wrong. There will be so many people who want to come and visit and stay in Steamboat because of the Peaceful nature of the town. They will support the community in all aspects and even free up the softball fields for locals to go and play with their children in.
People don't want to come to a town that is overridden with softball palyers - where as we can not drive thru town or get a parking space in town or not have beer spilled all over us at local eateries.
The town WILL survive Trust me w/o Dave King and Triple Crown.
Now is the time for City Council and Resort services to stand up and not be Bullied by Triple Crown. Now is the time for City Council to listen to the residents who live here year round and not just the few for a few weeks each summer.
Listen to the people who voted you in City Council - no more tripple crown !!

I wonder if Routt County Sheriff Gary Wall will be in Hayden for the DUI recognition training and driver compliance that is going on this week. It appears he may need a refresher in the “Suspected DUI ” driver compliance laws. Your licence is a privliage and not a right to drive and you MUST comply with the laws of the state and submit a blood, breath or alcohol test if requested.
