On Ken Brenner: Are we prepared?
Someone always has to throw in the obligatory "for the children". What a bunch of crap!
Hey SilverSpoon, I have got some pixie dust that you can sprinkle in some water that will turn it into hydrogen.....

On Omar. M. Campbell: Vote on 700
well skiday, that is what a "representative" government is suppose to do. And if you really believe they are not representing you, then vote in someone who does. However, you must remember that just because they may not represent your "beliefs", they may be representing the rest (majority) of the community.
I personally get sick of every time there is an issue everyone wants to run to the ballot box.

On Omar. M. Campbell: Vote on 700
why even have a city council, county commissioners, Governor, us congress or POTUS? We can run this country/state/county/city by voting on every decision. Who needs representation? Why waste the time?

On Propane prices growing
Isn't it about time for the City Council to step and make sure that those who can not afford propane get a subsidy? We can call it "Affordable Propane". Just think, we can tax all of those second home owners a tax every time they have a BBQ, they wont know what hit them.

On Ritter plugs tax-credit repeal
classic wealth redistribution. Do you really think that the O&G industry will just suck up the extra expense? Not. They will pass it along with higher prices. So, the government will take the "wind fall" and give it to the "middle class" for tuition, after they take a portion to administer the project.
Why stop there, why not every time a O&G company wants to drill a prospect well, we should tax the crap out of them. That way we can make damn sure we have to buy our energy from someone who wants to kill us (middle easterner).

On Animal accidents prove costly
Great, this probably means PETA is going to get involved soon. Of course you know what PETA stands for? People Eating Tasty (albeit fried) Animals...

On Snowmelt sieges Seedhouse
if everyone would not drive their car or heat their homes for the next few weeks, it will lower the carbon in the atmosphere and then things will cool off in time to save steamboat....

On Rob Douglas: In search of the mythical tourist
Steamboat Pilot;
Rob has been a great addition to your paper. Agree (mostly) or disagree, he tends to strike a nerve or two with every article, which in my opinion is good for Steamboat. Gets a dialog going both in the community and online.
Great Job!
BigDog
PS: maybe we should put it to a vote however:-)

On Salazar critical of Big Oil
John,
Why don't you and your fellow demigods just nationalize the oil & gas industry? Along with Health care, banking and transportation you could control this nation.
Believe me, if the land you are referring to was worth developing (risk vs. reward thing) the O&G companies would be drilling on it.
I am sure the geniuses running the government know better ways to solve the risk/reward issues and find/develop resources where others can't.
With idiots like this getting elected to office, we are in for a world of hurt. SCARY!
