Lodwick plans comeback

I WISH THE BEST FOR TODD AND HIS ATTEMPT TO MAKE A COMEBACK. I HOPE THAT TODD REMEMBERS HOW HE REPRESENTS STEAMBOAT AND THAT HIS BAD ATTITUDE OF THE 2006 OLYMPICS WAS AN EMBARRASSMENT TO OUR COMMUNITY. REMEMBER YOU HAVE MANY YOUNGSTERS LOOKING UP TO YOU AND BLAMING OTHERS FOR YOUR FAILURES DOESN'T FAIR WELL.DONT FORGET TO SAY THANK YOU ALONG THE WAY.......

Little middle ground

This is to Know it All; What does a realtor know......it is obvious that Troy Brookshire knows a hell of a lot more than you do. How many hours have you sat on a planning commission meeting developing LPS standards and working on ridgeline regulations or the endless hours dealing with gravel pits and how they would seriously impact the valley floor and assisting other member in coming up with a fair decision to all. How many hours have you spent negotiating sales contracts that help save buyers and sellers thousand of dollars and walking away from with great satisfaction. I ask you, how many volunteer hours have you put into the community in the last year, how many dollars have you committed to donating to community services.
The bottom line .. private property is our own and we should be able to do what we want to do with it. My question to you is: 40 years from now will you be still sitting on your barstool, making comments about all the advantages rich realtors, developers, second home owners have over you and how you want to constantly comment negatively or are you going to get involved and donate, get involved, and participate. If any anyone should be declared as historic preservation it is Troy Brookshire and all the work, time, energy and family legacy he has invested in this valley........listen to him

Dogs kill pet at Dumont Lake

I FIND THIS WHOLE SITUATION DISGUSTING. As longtime Routt County resident, the sheep herders dogs have been a nuisance and are becoming a safety issue to the recreationalist regardless if they have a dog with them or not. I hike, ride bikes, and try to take advantage of our greater outdoors. I am also involved in the Real Estate Industry and have on multiple times been cornered by these dogs, chased in the car and at one time nearly attacked. There are no signs posted that "Caution possible aggressive Sheephearding Dogs in the area" I now travel with pepper spray, and a full first aid kit. I feel that the owners that have employed the sheepherders need to start bearing some responsibility to keep these dogs under control. Many of these dogs have been left to fend for themselves including food. Antoleans, are not social animals and neither are Great Pyranees that have been desocialized with human touch. With the great need to have the opportunity to graze the sheep on private lands to maintain the property in AG, and public lands to satisfy the need to additional grazing land, I believe the leasee needs to be accountable for these animals...........

Elk River Guns joins 'friendly competition'

I wish Ken the best of luck with his new business, we all have the right to success in life and business. I however think that Ken has managed to create a negative impact upon the entrance to our city. This sign is chilling, negative and gives a very unwelcome feeling to the entrance to Steamboat Springs. I know that Real Estate signs have been taken down and restricted as well as garage sale signs and certain business signs haven't passed the sign ordinance downtown, How did this sign get approved? I hope that Ken will remove this sign so that the the entrance to Steamboat will be restored to the welcoming feeling we want all of our visitors and locals to experience.
