On Crew bungles road striping
Does the Internet Edition of the Today need to headline this article a second day? My first thought was they didn't get todays edition out, but wait the other articles are new. This MUST be really important stuff to them.

On Our View: Ride a bike; obey the laws
The paper failed to include in Point 2 the rest of the Colorado Statute
42-4-1412. Operation of bicycles and other human-powered vehicles.
(6) (a) Persons operating bicycles on roadways shall ride single file; except that riding no more than two abreast is permitted in the following circumstances:
(I) WHEN THERE IS NO MOTOR VEHICLE TRAFFIC APPROACHING FROM THE REAR WITHIN A DISTANCE OF THREE HUNDRED FEET AND THE SIGHT DISTANCE ON THE ROADWAY AT THE TIME AND PLACE AND UNDER THE CONDITIONS THEN EXISTING IS A MINIMUM OF THREE HUNDRED FEET TO THE FRONT AND TO THE REAR OF THE BICYCLISTS; OR
(II) WHEN RIDING ON PATHS OR PARTS OF ROADWAYS SET ASIDE FOR THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF BICYCLES.
(b) Persons riding two abreast shall ride within a single lane.
All riders need to understand this ruling. As a driver it is frustrating when bicyclists don’t obey that rule and embarrassing as a bicyclist, when I get labeled with the rest of the ignorant riders. When I was driving over the road, I carried the rules with me and would stop and show riders the laws. Sometimes they would be receptive, others didn’t care. That is what makes most motorists MAD.

The Sheriff of Steamboat Springs Rides Again.
How convenient that one of the State Troopers (or both) live in Hayden. Which he didn't win the voters blessing. But then again it's a long ride to Hayden.

On Annual youth lacrosse tourney set for this weekend
But a Lacrosse tournament is OK at Emerald Park!
Look out Pamela Lane residents here come those SUVs with Lacrosse players and their families. Is Steamboat Youth Lacrosse going to have street monitors at the entrance of Pamela Lane? How are our children going to use the fields this weekend? I need the solitude of the Botanical Garden without noisy kids having fun.
Oh, that’s right this is YOUTH LACROSSE, not YOUTH BASEBALL their parents have acceptable demographic standards!

On Losing Triple Crown risky
To all of you whiner bloggers, I can’t wait to come back for a laugh!
Oh, boy is this great!!

On Will the end of adult slow-pitch softball games change your perception of Triple Crown?
What a loaded question. Like or dislike Triple Crown, your stance doesn't change, your vote will be NO. It's not really a no vote for Triple Crown.

On John F. Russell: End of the road for tradition
I was sad at first about hearing the news, but understand Triple Crowns decision. I first played in the Fourth of July Tournament, twenty-four years ago as a player for a Boulder team. I had never been in Steamboat Springs in the summer. I admit, I was one of those beer drinking morons that bloggers complain about, but back then I was one during ski season here.
I moved here twenty-one years ago and played on the Steamin' Jacks / KKMX team in the City League. I met great people from my playing days and enjoying reminiscing with some of them today. I tell my family that is one of many reasons I transferred to Steamboat Springs.
Some will say good riddance and now will have to complain about the Gatorade, Red Bull drinking kids playing baseball. Oh wait a minute; we have that in the winter. They put their bats away and get their boards out.

On Michael Turner: Triple Crown facts
Larry,
It was great to hear from you. Many years ago you wrote a letter to the Pilot supporting Triple Crown teams coming to the valley. I was impressed then and I am impressed now that you have commented on the situation.
What I remember is you asked the elitist whiners, if we should put a gate at the base of Rabbit Ears and have visitors pass a demographics test so the right type of tourists can proceed and rest be turned away. Of all the letters about TC, yours has stuck in my mind to this day.
Yes, I did move to SB for its party vibe and a job transfer not related to tourism. Married a local girl, now, we are raising our children that have played in TC tournaments. They wonder why people are complaining about TC, when they had met such nice people. We still own a Suburban and crew cab pickup (a Suburban is a truck, not an SUV) that have the numbers and names of our children that play sports at school in the fall and winter. It’s not just in the summertime any more! They never leave the valley, only to go to away games.

On Lanning’s future up in the air
Some members of council just want a marionette (puppet), so they can control the strings. The new touchy-feelie board are giving in to special interest groups.
