Tasers are often used to prevent injury to the officer; the officer was already injured on scene. The taser was completely justified, reasonable and necessary. It did not sound like anyone was submitting peacefully.

Sounded like she was putting up a good fight, "What are you people doing in my house?", Could you be more confrontational and belligerent.
Lets see, driver, passenger and two adult children makes four, sounds like the officer was out numbered to me.
Sounded like the officer stated "I've got a lot of people here", I never heard five people, the dispatcher was the person that overstated the situation.
This scenario reminded me of an important decision in the Tattered Cover v. City of Thornton.
The case was based around the police department obtaining personal information. The Court eventually stated that law enforcement needs to show the information is critical to a prosecution.
I cannot help but wonder what position the paper would take if faced with a demand from the Sheriffs office with a possible motive "critical to a prosecution". These types of cases could be personal vendettas.
Since the paper has not publicly published a policy by their legal council, rather than an opinion and state clearly what the information will be used for, who has access and what position the paper will take when faced with a decision that could lead to expensive legal battle, I will not post.
Your not even protecting the paper without these policies and guidelines let alone any assurance to posters.

Drivers who flee when directed to stop by a police officer creates a dangerous situation for themselves, police officers and innocent victims. She is lucky she did not kill someone. He should have used the PIT maneuver and knocked her out of harms way.
Assault and causing injury to an officer under the influence of alcohol, Dukebets, you better hope this officer does not sue the City for his injuries and sue all parties involved.
The Chief should call the Attorney General and start work on a special prosecutor.

If called upon after hours could he show up on site sober?
