Honestly I didn't know they HAD any adult games. I thought it was only the kids. I avoid them all anyways.

What a loaded question. Like or dislike Triple Crown, your stance doesn't change, your vote will be NO. It's not really a no vote for Triple Crown.

yes, I'm very disappointed in this community. For many years my softball team came up here to play and we brought our families. It's really the only opportunity a lot of us normal blue collar type folks would get to come to such a beautiful place and bring our kids to enjoy what the mountains had Tto offer. We would always enjoy a gondola ride, floating down the Yampa, 4 wheeling at SLO, AND playing some pretty amazing softball.

That era is now gone for a lot of families on the front range as well as folks form other states, due to the SNOBBY, yes I meant it in all caps people in this town. I've lived here for over a year now, and am just so disappointed in this community. So many of you have the Boulder attitude of not in my back yard and it's sickening! “Then move” is what I'm sure a lot of you are saying and believe me, I'm thinking about it.

This is all so sad and disappointing. I hope you're all very proud that you've ended the fun of hundreds of families. I don't blame Dave King for getting out of here. There are plenty of other communities that will welcome the revenue Triple Crown brings in.

You will never understand that the Winter visitors are just as bad or worse than the summer ball playing visitors. I would think in this time of recession Steamboat would welcome any sales tax revenues they could get.

Bring on more snobby wine tasting events etc. that normal hard working people can't afford to enjoy.

Maybe Steamboat could change their name to Aspen II or something?? Who knows?

Sportzmama… you go girl, you hit the nail on the head! Steamboat Springs needs to get back to their “roots” and remember all the people that helped make it the wonderful place it is. If Steamboats not careful it will end up getting forgotten by the people who really care about it, and show up every year…. just a though! ;)

Steamboat. You have become yupified with all this trust fund money andm phony eletists. I wish Doc Utterback was alive. He would run all of you out of town.

Remember the campaign”Steamboat is a Coming”. We seem to have forgotten that a town is built on traditions and pioneers, not wealthy folk who are big fish in a little pond.

was the decision to no longer have adult games made by triple crown or the city? i was under the impression from john russell's letter on may 4th that triple crown had made the decision, not the city of steamboat. if that is the case, which i believe it is, then why are all you people griping at the city of steamboat?

with a little searching, i answered my own question. just as i thought, the decision was made by triple crown NOT by the city.

sportzmama,
Most bloggers know my stand on this issue. Your right about the “elitist yuppified trust funded snobs”! I am of the “enslaved” working class of Steamboater who would rather rub elbows with the blue collar overcrowded TC teams, than a bunch of elitist snobs of Aspen or Vail caliber! Yeah, I whine and moan about the busy times of Steamboat like everyone else however, I know it is our community business and income. Steamboat is not the way I found it 25 years ago! It will never be that way again! Its still better than Vail and Aspen ever will be! When I tire of Steamboat, I will pack it up, turn down the rear view mirrors and never look back! Till then, I'm going to have fun putting up with our busy town and enjoy what we still have!

caplka,
Your right! The Doc Utterback had a way of dealing with things! I miss the old faces of Steamboat. Doc was something and is missed. I'm sure many who have passed on are turning in their graves over some of the changes in Steamboat! Maybe that's why we have the earthquakes we do!
