Four-year-old Valerie Hurth, who at 14 months old was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer, is pictured Wednesday with her brother, Everett; mother, Andrea; and father, Doug. During Valerie's recovery, the family decided to leave their home in Heartland, Wis., and settle in Steamboat Springs for a higher altitude and a new beginning.
