Hayden celebrates the grand opening of the Hayden Marketplace on Oak Street on Saturday. Local artists and craft makers jointly own the store, where they sell their wares. The store, at 144 S. Walnut St., is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. “It’s people that normally do craft fairs and stuff, artists and artisans,” said Dana Haskins, who makes soap and sells it at the store. “It’s a retail store that’s a cooperative effort on everybody’s part.”
Hayden High School seniors Brianna Ford, Russell Waugh, Garrett Murchison and Samuel Kopsa hang out in the office Tuesday afternoon at the high school. The seniors will be saying goodbye, with graduation just around the corner.
Seventh-grader Christian Ramirez, of Steamboat Springs, looks for a teammate during last weekend’s Eagle County Lax Jam Battle of the Western Slope tournament. Ramirez helped his team to a perfect 3-0 record.
Partners in Routt County school-based mentor Virginia Lamneck arranges photos Tuesday for an art show at the Hayden Public Library. An opening reception is from 5 to 7 p.m. today.
The deterioration of Routt County Road 76 was one of the issues discussed during a meeting Monday between Hayden residents and Routt County Commissioners.
Mount Werner and the Steamboat Ski Area received a fresh coat of snow over night into Tuesday. The Natural Resources Conservation Service reported 6 inches of new snow brought the depth on Rabbit Ears Pass to 75 inches.
