Three families were on hand Sunday to receive 2008 Heritage Family Awards at the Ranch Rodeo in Steamboat Springs. Marsha Daughenbaugh, Community Agriculture Alliance executive director, left, prepares to hand the plaque to Judy and Jerry Green of the Hayden area. Jerry Green’s family homesteaded south of Hayden in 1895, and the pair now run the ranch.

The City of Steamboat Springs is considering redeveloping the land where the Iron Horse Inn is located. The plan would maximize affordable housing but might also open the door for some commercial development, as well.
