State Sen. Jack Taylor, R-Steamboat Springs, is concerned with some Front Range legislators' hopes to divert mineral revenues toward purposes such as higher education. Taylor believes the revenues should stay in the Western Slope communities affected by energy development for projects such as road repairs. The state Legislature convenes today for its 2009 session.
