The Dinosaur National Monument Quarry Visitor Center closed in July 2006 because the building site is too unstable to support a structure. Park officials said a new visitor center construction project is on schedule for 2011 or 2012. Officials said they are glad to be able to promote other park attractions in the interim.

Fraioli and his wife, Jillian, picked the loveseat from the massive sale going on as a part of the lodge's preparation for demolition. Large TVs were the first things sold out when the sale began Thursday morning, but there was plenty of merchandise to be had Friday afternoon. There were queen beds, a huge stack of alarm clocks and hair dryers, sleeper sofas, smaller TVs, an icemaker, large paintings, framed photographs and enough pale hotel artwork to decorate a dozen small inns.

Instead, they rack up hundreds and thousands of miles pedaling to and from the post office, the store, a restaurant or the park. GiGi's bike was purchased several years ago at Steamboat Ski & Bike Kare while Johnny's current town cruiser was new in the 1970s, then retrofitted several years ago at Orange Peel Bicycle Service to better serve its current role.

The Hahn's Peak Lake campground will be closed for the entire season.
