Brett and Kay Brooks salvaged belt buckles that they have won throughout the years in rodeo competitions. They consider the buckles some of their most prized possessions and hope they will be able to restore the buckles, which were damaged in the fire.

The 17 girls in Steamboat Springs Girl Scout Troop 311 recently toured a house under construction at Sydney Peak Ranch, courtesy of Jeff Koepfer with Cogswell Construction. The girls learned how a house is built, wisely and efficiently.
Stephanie Loomis, a physical therapist at Steamboat Spine and Sports Physical Therapy in Steamboat Springs, is a cancer survivor. Loomis, who finished her chemotherapy treatments at the end of July, said the experience has changed how she views life and has taught her to take things a little easier.
GGs Coffee Shop, at 745 E. Jefferson Ave. in Hayden, is hard to miss as you drive into Hayden from the east. Built in the 1970s, the building originally housed a burger joint but in recent years has sat abandoned.
